18. December 2014

The Estonian Woodhouse Association (EWA) has accepted three new members: Mechelin Eesti, Greentec Houses and Puitpesa.

Mechelin Eesti OÜ represents an American brand SENCO, a leader in the power fastening industry. The company belongs into a Belgian group Van Aerden Group. Mechelin Eesti OÜ is selling contractor power tools including cordless nailers and fasteners, and the main clients are wood processing companies.

According to sales manager Marko Pruuli, the main stimulus to join the EWA was the fact that the association brings together the most active and progressive companies in the wooden houses manufacturing sector. “Number of joint activities are arranged and those gatherings provide perfect opportunity for networking and to bring cooperation to a new level.”

Another new member is Greentec Houses OÜ, the manufacturer of the timber-frame element houses. The company is acting since 2004, employing 20 people today. The production capacity is ca’ 50 houses or 150 modular units a year. The company expects to double its production during 2015 after modernization of the production line.

“The company’s growth has been stable and gradual, contributing more to the quality than to the quantity,” said Ahto Joost, the CEO of Greentec Houses OÜ.

The third new member, Puitpesa OÜ is a design company specialized in designing timber frame houses and timber constructions. According to the representative of the company, Martin Koiduaru, the decision to join the EWA comes from the need to be better informed of developments and be closer to the sector. “In order to focus on timber one has to intensively collaborate with manufactures and in EWA, we have a great opportunity to see what the others are doing and to be more visible ourselves.”
