Estonian-Norwegian Cooperation Symposium “Creating added value for wooden buildings”
23. February

Estonian Woodhouse Cluster is organizing a symposium in cooperation with Royal Norwegian Embassy, Estonian Woodhouse Association, Estonian Forest and Wood Industries Association, Enterprise Estonia and Innovation Norway about marketing and architecture of energy efficient wooden buildings.

During recent years the Estonian Woodhouse Association has been awarding people who have contributed remarkably to the promotion, development and sale of Estonian wooden houses. This year we will give the title of “Friend of Estonian Wooden House” to the Kingdom of Norway because Norway has been the main export destination for Estonian wooden houses for over a decade and our products have been well accepted and are well known in Norway.

We wish to use this opportunity to draw attention to the issues relating to the manufacturing and sale of wooden houses. With the participation of renowned experts from Estonia and Norway, the symposium will focus more precisely on the product development, export and architecture of wooden houses.

85% of Estonian wooden houses are sold abroad to foreign markets. Estonia is the second exporter of wooden houses by volume after Finland.  In this context our wooden houses manufacturers are looking for ways to add value to their products and increase the price of their products. Our experience demonstrates that through cooperation between wooden houses manufacturers and architects, engineers, and information technology sectors, as well as furniture and other building materials manufacturers we could increase both the volume of export and the value of our products.

Symposium will be held in English without translation.
